My plan for this artwork is to create a spring landscape because I miss spring. I also really like weeping willows. I am envisioning a colorful sunny day with lots of flowers a river and a tree. I want to stretch and explore and use these materials in new ways.

One of the things I learned was observation, I could look and see if I mixed the right color and what color I needed to add to it. The second thing I learned was develop craft, I learned some new techniques and ways to use watercolor.
1. It is a pattern of different flavors of Burt's Bees chapstick. There is a white, blue, yellow and red kind. They are drawn by oil pastels. The background is white.
2. I created it by sketching out the chapstick and thenI layered oil pastels to get the right color. 3. I really like to use chapstick, especially Burt's Bees. 4. My goal was to get the right color and dimensions of the chapstick. 5. I think it looks good but the oil pastels are really hard to use because they are so messy. The first studio habit of mind I used was envision. I had to think ahead and imagine what my artwork would look like. The second one I used was develop craft. I used oil pastels in a new way to get the right colors I need.
Two of the Studio Habits of Mind I used were Stretch and Explore and Engage and Persist. I tried new materials that I have never used before and different ways to use the ones I have used. When my artwork was not looking like how I wanted it to I kept on going and trying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qtLkCfeYFM Right now as an artist I am a beginner. I hope to improve my art. Some risks I will take to achieve that is stepping out of my comfort zone. A goal I have for myself is to try new things.
